PHARMACUTICAL

The use of purified water is of great importance in the pharmaceutical industry. Among the products produced in this sector are various types of water for injection or research purposes. Examples include WFI (Water for Injection), PW (Purified Water), and HPW (Highly Purified Water), all of which must meet high water purification standards.

Additionally, the pharmaceutical industry deals with various organic, fermentative, herbal, and chemical materials, each requiring water with different levels of purification. The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) specifies all the parameters that must be evaluated and controlled for water used in pharmaceutical processes. The most important parameters include pH, toxin levels, bacteria, temperature, and electrical conductivity (EC) of the incoming water.
